Hire Tips

Below are some frequently asked questions about hiring a marquee:

WHAT SIZE MARQUEE WILL I NEED?

A minimum guide would be 8 square feet per person for a standing buffet or 15 square feet per person for a sit-down occasion. You then need to consider space for the buffet tables, dance floor, dj / band and catering area. Also, how much free space do you want in the marquee? This would be up to you.

WILL A MARQUEE STAND ON CONCRETE?

Yes is the simple answer! Our framed marquees do not have centre poles or guy ropes and will sit on concrete. However, wherever possible, we would prefer to drill small fixings into the concrete to ensure good anchorage.

WILL A MARQUEE SIT ON A SLOPE?

Yes. A small slope doesn't matter to us as long as you don't mind having that slope inside the marquee. However, if there is a big gradient difference between both ends, we would recommend hiring a scaffolding base to level the floor. This is not cheap but it allows a marquee to go where not normally possible. We have contacts that will supply and fit this base for you.

HOW SAFE ARE YOUR MARQUEES?

Our marquees comply with all current British Standards for Fire retardancy and wind loading.

DO YOU ONLY SUPPLY MARQUEES?

No. We supply all the flooring and accessories to complete your package. Please see our accessories link for a guide to what we supply. If you don't see exactly what you require here, call us for a quotation.

DO YOU OWN ALL YOUR OWN EQUIPMENT?

Yes. We believe that the quality of our equipment reflects in our reputation. Therefore we buy and maintain all our own equipment to a high standard. On the odd occasion we will hire in good quality extra accessories such as tables and chairs to meet with demand.

CAN YOU CONNECT THE MARQUEE TO A BUILDING?

Yes. We will endeavour to make a good seal between our marquee and a building wherever possible.
